Afreen Malik is the co-founder of ZEF. She has worked in the agricultural industry for over 25 years in various technical roles including food safety, quality assurance, research and development, and environmental stewardship/sustainability. In addition to her role at ZEF, Afreen serves as the Science Program Director for Western Growers, a non-profit working to promote the interests of fresh produce farmers and other farming operations.
Afreen has a Master of Science in Coastal and Watershed Science and Policy from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
