ZEF was created to fulfill the ongoing mission to help people and communities in need. We are actively involved in bettering the lives of children, immigrants, and refugees. Our efforts are dedicated to empowering children through opportunities to realize their potential and help them lead happy and fulfilling lives.

Growing up in a developing country, Humera and her siblings experienced firsthand the results of living in a community without fundamental resources: lack of funding for education, poor public services, and limited economic opportunities. As teenagers, they set out to make a change, gathering their own savings and garnering the support of community members to start their own nonprofit school. They spent three years working with parents, developing educational materials and resources, and advocating for the value of education. Their immigration to the United States forced them to shift their efforts, yet their dedication to providing new opportunities for young people was too strong to stop there.

Today, Humera and her team work tirelessly to help underserved people and communities, all with the ultimate goal of bettering lives and supporting quality education.
